600 mw solar park – digital orchestration of people, processes, and power

A workflow-driven operating system for a 600 MW solar park that replaces spreadsheets and email chains with automation, real-time progress, and audit-ready processes. From RFx to commissioning, data flows once—ERP/CRM, procurement, QA/QC, SCADA/GIS/BIM are connected, field teams work mobile-first, and decisions are tied to the work, not to inboxes. The result: faster cycles, fewer errors, transparent handovers, and a smoother grid-ready start.

600 mw solar park – digital orchestration of people, processes, and power

summary

On more than 300 hectares, one of Europe’s largest solar parks is being built—clean, future-proof energy for up to 350,000 households. The ambition wasn’t just capacity. It was control: orchestrate dozens of contractors, thousands of components, and a torrent of data so the project moves faster, cleaner, and with fewer surprises.

challenge

Modern plants are high-tech, but the work around them often isn’t: parallel spreadsheets, long email chains, siloed tools, approvals stuck in calendars, and status updates that age the moment they’re sent. For a 600 MW build-out, that means friction—in procurement, HSE, scheduling, QA/QC, grid-connection readiness, and handover to O&M.

solution

We designed and implemented a digital operating system for the project—automation first, workflow by design:

  • Single source of truth: A unified data backbone that syncs ERP/CRM, procurement, and document control; roles & rights by work package.
  • Process automation: Standardised workflows for RFx → PO → delivery → QA/QC → commissioning, with SLA timers, four-eyes approvals, and audit trails.
  • Field to cloud: Mobile apps for time, progress, HSE incidents, punch lists; offline capture, instant sync, geotagging.
  • Planning & resources: Integrated Gantt, capacity & shift planning, dependency checks, and critical-path alerts.
  • Asset & grid readiness: Structured equipment master, serials & warranties; SCADA/GIS/BIM touchpoints; grid-code checklist and commissioning gates.
  • Collaboration hub: Project chat, meeting notes, decisions, and files tied to tasks—not buried in inboxes.
  • Security & compliance: ISO-aligned controls, immutable logs, and permissioned “need-to-know” spaces.

impact

  • Weeks saved on procurement cycles through automated RFx and approval paths.
  • Fewer site revisits via mobile QA/QC and instant punch-list closure.
  • Clear critical path—delays surface early, re-planning happens in hours, not days.
  • Audit-ready handovers—from lot acceptance to grid-code documentation without rework.
  • Smoother start of operations—assets, warranties, and maintenance plans flow straight into O&M.
